Transdev, in partnership with Transport for NSW, this week announced a new high frequency Turn Up and Go shuttle bus trial commencing 18 November to provide a direct link between Lilli Pilli Point and Caringbah Station during peak times.
The 980 bus route is dedicated to getting local residents and visitors to and from Lilli Pilli Point and Caringbah Station, along Port Hacking Road which is one of the suburb’s busiest corridors.
The Turn Up and Go service will operate every 10 minutes between 6am to 9am to Caringbah Station and 4pm to 8:30pm to Lilli Pilli Point.
The trial will cater for customers who normally drive and park at the station. Customers can tap on and off using their Opal card, credit and debit cards and linked smart devices.
Opal bus fares apply and customers will receive all Opal travel rewards such as the $2 Opal transfer discount if they change between a train and a bus within 60 minutes.
Customers will need to be aged 7 years and over to travel on the Turn Up and Go vehicle as per road vehicle and safety requirements. Customers should plan their trip at www.transportnsw.info.
The Turn Up and Go shuttle buses seat 11 passengers and will run on a new 980 route alongside the existing 977 bus route operated by Transdev and will run for a 6 month trial period.

Transdev is a global leader in on demand public transport solutions and has successfully trialled a number of on demand transport pilots across NSW in Manly and the Sutherland Shire, and recently launched a new On Demand Ferry connecting the new Barangaroo precinct to popular tourist spots along the harbour.
Turn up and Go will go live after the 24-month Sutherland Shire On Demand trial service is completed on 17 November.
