Murray Dillon, winner of the Safety Hero Award in 2015

Murray was driving his bus when he saw a car roll back and noted that the woman that had been driving was unconscious at the wheel. While no one around took action, Murray checked on the woman and found she wasn’t showing any signs of life. He instructed a passer-by to call an ambulance and he performed CPR on her until the ambulance arrived.

It was later discovered that the woman was also pregnant and had been told by her doctors that she and her baby wouldn’t have survived if it were not for Murray’s actions.

Murray was recognised earlier this year with a Royal Life Saving Bravery Award for his heroic actions. He was also interviewed on Chanel 7’s Sunrise TV show for his courageous efforts.
